Chou Chou Namegabe’s Testimony on Sexual Violence in the DRC
I had the opportunity yesterday to attend the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on “Confronting Rape and other forms of Violence Against Women in Conflict Zones” and to hear the compelling testimony of Vital Voices Global Advisory Council member Chou Chou Namegabe. Chou Chou bravely and eloquently described the horrific effects of sexual violence as a military tactic in the DRC. At the end of her remarks, there was not a dry eye in the house. We are so fortunate to have her here to represent the women of the Congo. Thank you Chou Chou, you are an inspiration to us all!
