Iranian Human Rights Lawyer Shadi Sadr Reportedly Arrested
Shadi Sadr, Iranian women’s rights activist and journalist, has reportedly been arrested, according to the LA Times. While walking with other female activists, Sadr is said to have been forced into a car on July 17. Sadr edits a Farsi news website on women in Iran, and has previously been detained for two weeks in 2007. As the LA Times reports: “She has clashed with authorities numerous times over her outspoken stance on women’s rights and capital punishment.”
