About: Christie
- Christie Edwards has a B.A. from The Master's College, where she spent most of her studies abroad in Israel, Switzerland and interning in Washington, D.C. She has a J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, specializing in international human rights law. In addition to her private practice of asylum representation for political refugees, she became an Adjunct Professor and Pro Bono Fellow at TJSL in November 2007, teaching Inter-American Human Rights Law and coaching students to compete in an international moot court competition. She recently co-authored an article on the cultural context of sex trafficking in China, published in Fordham University’s International Law Journal in February 2009, and is currently a contributing editor for a new casebook on Women and International Human Rights Law. Christie enjoys speaking at local and international conferences on issues of international human rights law. She recently moved to Washington, D.C. to pursue her LL.M. degree at American University's Washington College of Law, with specializations in International Human Rights and Gender. Christie is writing her LL.M. thesis on economic empowerment for women in North Africa.
