About: elyn
- Elyn Rodriguez joined the Vital Voices Global Leadership Network as the only Salvadoran mentee participating in the June 2008 mentorship program hosted by Vital Voices’ Guatemala Global Network Affiliate Chapter & Central American Network. Currently, she is working with her mentor, Maria Eugenia de Avila in the Corporate Sustainability Department of HSBC in El Salvador to implement projects designed to improve academic opportunities for destitute children and raise awareness about the problems linked to climate change. In high school and during her early college years, Elyn worked with charitable organizations in San Salvador and has served as a volunteer to provide a basic education and adequate nourishment for orphan children in many communities near her home in El Salvador. Elyn has interned at Citibank and the Salvadoran Ministry of Economy, and is currently a Harvard sophomore studying economics. At Harvard, she has a part-time job as Assistant Director of the phonathon of the Radcliffe Institute of Advanced Studies and as a Spanish tutor. In September of 2008 she will return to Boston to continue with her studies. She will take with her the strength, determination, and love of all the wonderful women she has met through Vital Voices.
